DM, You essentially have three choices. Firstly direct access to the exchanges, DOT for Listed, RAES for options, and for NASDAQ you can access all of the ECN's through SelectNet, Broadcast to MM's as a whole or preference them individually. Your other routes are SOES and a direct button to the Island. Next you can ask to be hooked up for ARCA which is an automatic routing system. Thirdly you can send it to A.B.Watley's professional trading desk who will in essence use the direct routing on your behalf. The real advantage of using a system like UltimateTrader is of course the speed and transparency of going to the exchanges via the direct method, but we try and cover all the bases for you until you are up to speed on the routing choices. Yes you will be able to paper trade, but bear in mind you will pay for data whilst in this mode. Hope this helps.
