check the chart action for last year
Good Idea! Here's what I got off my Quicken history, rounded to the nearest dollar. I took the Feb 16th, 1999 date, backed up a year, used that as the earnings report date, checked the price 30 days prior to earnings, and 14 days afterward. I know I am off by a couple of points on these numbers, but I don't think I am off enough to matter.

1/16/98 --93********2/16/98--112*********3/1/98---126 (double 63 for split)

4/16/98---68********5/16/98---90**********6/1/98---78

7/16/98---114*******8/16/98---107*********9/1/98---108

10/16/98---57*********11/16/98---63*********12/1/98---64

Whats this prove? Not much. A year ago, we had a 19 point "pop" before earnings, and a 14 point jump after earnings in two weeks. This board seems to expect this to happen this time, and it could. However, the last three reports show no jump after earnings.
My conclusion? It stays the same or goes down if they meet their numbers or exceed by 2 cents and no split. A "blowout" and split could see a jump equal to a year ago.
