TED,
I begin to believe that you are right about short-aholism being incurable. I do believe that periodic treatments can hold it in check. I was a hopeless short-aholic after my DDIM days...I would pass on a good 'investment' in pursuit of the hedonistic pleasures of trying to short something into the ground. I, often, had 100% of my trading account in shorts. Then a treatment was applied.
I was one of the people so determined that KTEL could not run any higher that it currently was at the time. As far gone as I was into short-aholism, I had KTEL apply 5 different treatments to my trading accounts. It was not pretty....but it worked. For months afterward, stone tablets could fall from heaven with the names of choice shorts engraved on them...I would avert my eyes and put my hands in my pockets (which where somewhat emptier at the time). I couldn't even have strawberries and shortcake without breaking into a cold sweat for several months. Eventually, I did back-slide....but it is not hopeless. Whenever I feel that I am getting to far gone into short-aholism, I try to find a flying internet to short. Usually, treatments are not of long duration and most effacious in returning me to some semblance of 'normality'. I believe that the best that I can hope for is to remain a 'functional short-aholic' and hope that I can keep treatments to a minimum.
Thanks for the offer of the swat team...I may accept that offer if I think my treatment schedule gets out of hand.
