I don't know much about wireless technology. A little surfing turned up many interesting things, which I will spend more time reviewing. Here are some links I turned up. One thing stands out. MRVC announced a "multi-gigabit" product, while most wireless offerings are still relatively low bandwidth solutions. This is all MRVC said in their latest press release: "NBase-Xyplex's Wireless Fiber Driver combines WDM Technology and wireless transmission to distribute ATM, SONET and Gigabit Ethernet to a record distance in free space. This is an industry first in both distance and data rate. The multigigabit optical link requires no permits from the FCC. Used when links need to be established quickly or when fiber is unavailable, the device represents a breakthrough in wireless connectivity." Perhaps someone here more knowledgeable than I can comment on the markets and prospects for this new product offering.
