Oh crap! Now there is an easy way to see your
total commissions paid...I just went to tax
records and I see I've shelled out about five
grand since I started that account up...and
I've only made about 40k trading. That is a
pretty sweet cut they are getting.

Also, I went over my records once again, to
review un unpleasant experience with a trade
that would not execute...and see that cost
me another $5k.

And they never bothered to credit my wife's
account with the $50 they promised (I even
reminded them on the application).

I have one nice thing to say about etrade--
the other day when the system would not execute
orders for me (and did not provide account
information) I shut down my internet connection
and made the trade using their voice system,
worked flawlessly.

Commissions are my fault...overtrading.

The trade that would not execute...their fault--
but seems not quite high enough to fight it, my
time is worth a lot to me (hmmm, I think I'm
full of it with that statement...I am here BSing
on SI, maybe I will fight it...but how?)

i had an error with e-trade, where they gave me a stock i didn't want, where it DID go up. so, yes, i had 1 trade where i made money accidentally. they called *me* within 30 minutes of the 'execution' and told me, as well as the current status. i got out, of course.

however, their problems - which did NOT happen during last week, but 2 weeks ago, where their lack of confirmations gave me 6* my margin worth of stocks and options - cost me pennies comparatively, but was a healthy loss for the amount of money in the account at the time.

fortunately, i hadn't put more money in the e-trade account...
