I just noticed that "Franklin Resources" has accumulated 6.9% of the outstanding stock of Cohu. The SEC filing is sec.gov

Anytime a large block is acquired that is a good sign. It also confirms a feeling that I had watching Cohu trading activity over the month or two when every large trade seemed to be on the buy side as if there was an aggressive buyer when a larger block was traded (5 to 10k or more shares). Hopefully there are some others accumulating shares now. Such a bargain compared to the likes of TER, AMAT, etc..

Good luck.

Maurice,
thanks for insight into the business. with COHU formation of SEG, i thought they would stop being so quiet.

as for the beating we took last week, i hated it b/c it forced we to sell some of my COHU (and other core holdings INTC, MSFT, SUNW, etc) due to stop loss rules that i use. my portfolio lost almost 15% in a week!!! fortunately, i made money but a lot less than i would have a week earlier. as for COHU the down volume was light compared to the up volume, so i am confident we are near the short term bottom for COHU if the nasdaq doesnt roll over and die. INTC drop probably weighed down COHU since it is one of its biggest customers.

i am still long term bullish on COHU. check out IBD monday edition, there's a piece of semi equip. COHU ranks #12. last year i think it ranked #8. still pretty good in my opinion.

off topic, BRKS held up extremely well last week despite the wreck in the chip sector.
