GST, I have not studied the Amazon business model in detail and I do not invest in AMZN. I am just a happy customer. Though, I would again recommend that you focus outside of BTO part and think about AMZN as a possible efficient pipeline between the printer/publisher and the reader. As for DELL, they do own a few (quite a few actually) patents. I would not say that their's is a business model with no intellectual property lock. In fact, their virtual integration itself is a counter-example. -Apratim.
