There are file compatibility problems between different versions of MS Word.

There are three versions of Windows and apparently two or more versions coming next year. Is the company branch in Fargo going to be using Windows 95, the branch in Salina Windows 98 and the branch in Medina Windows 2000 Business Edition? Then there's Windows CE? It makes UNIX fragmentation look tame. Bill wants to dominate every area of computing and it's a strategy destined to fail.

I agree with you completely. Netscape is open source. Linux is open source. The desktop is becoming less important every day.

People surfing the web are using UNIX and Linux ... they just don't realize it.

There is always resistance to change and it takes time. The open source alternatives to Windows and IE are faster, cheaper, and more reliable. These facts won't be ignored for much longer.

Best of luck.
