g m10,

This is a indicator designed to gauge the strength of the market. Similar to advance-decline. Its a visual way of looking at market participation during upmoves. Which has been one of the things that has been lacking during most of the rally from the Oct. lows. The only problem with them is they can lag the market during certain trading periods, such as right after a bear market. Now whether or not you believe the correction we saw this fall was a bear market or not - is another story. My feeling is it may not, by itself, be a good indicator to use to base your buying or selling. Try to incorporate as many different things into your analysis as possible. Especially the different indexes such as NAZ, S&P, DOW, Trannies, Russell. If you think you might be more interested in TA pick up any of the books by John Murphy. Usually a good place to start.

Good luck.

SO
