I am interested in this earnings get together, depending on availability that day. I suggest the Old Pro in Palo Alto, at the intersection of El Camino and Page Mill/ Embarcadero. It is a great sports bar with tons of TVs tuned to sporting events. But we can get the staff to put CNBC on. As Uncle Frank says, I will bring my (IBM, sorry) laptop with a wireless modem. The whisper of .31 is a joke and we can laugh at the punchline (I had a similar experience awaiting MSFT earnings last month when it posted .73 actual vs .59 expected. The gap up doubled my options positions' value. I took the proceeds and now sit in a DELl option positions, but with many more options, awaiting Feb 16) Good luck to us all... - Earnings - Michael Dell at Goldman Sachs conference Tues - Dellauction.com - Split (last ones at 109 and 113) Should be a nice week and a half... ;-) Attention Bay Area Dellheads (we're B.A.D.): NOTE: This is a repost. So far Jake032 (Palo Alto) and T L Comiskey (Calistoga) have rsvp'ed. Jake has an idea for a venue in Palo Alto which has cnbc, and he has offered to bring a laptop with wireless internet access. RSVP for the Earnings Party. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Arthur Pritchard and I have been planning to get together to watch cnbc and SI on Tuesday afternoon when the earnings report is issued (though he may decide to go to Roundrock so the little data packets won't have as far to travel). It should be historic! If any of you want to join in, respond to this post or send me a PM. We have the following logistical considerations: 1. What city to meet in? 2. What cafe to have it in? We need some place that will reserve an adequate sized table or room, has cable so we can watch cnbc, and will let us use a phone line (unless someone signs up to come who has wireless internet access). 3. What to wear? I'm leaning towards my new Dell hat and t-shirt. 4. How rowdy to get once Micheal sticks it to the analysts who dissed him last November. If we get a large enough crowd, I'll call Good Morning America and see if they'll tape it and run it right after Dorine's segment <g>. I'm looking forward to responses from you B.A.D. folks. Dellionaires and dellionaire wannabes are welcome. Uncle Frank
