Well shoot, Bearded One, I haven't been following the saga of the OS formerly known as NT5 closely for a while. I was a little chagrined when Microsoft messed up my "NT2K, the OS for the next millennium" appellation by changing the name to Windows 2000.

Funny think is, it's not clear if it makes any difference how long it slips. Who knows, maybe it will actually suck less! That would be something completely different.

Cheers, Dan.

Bearded One,

In short, what you are saying is that Corporate America can expect to spend lots of time and money beta-testing their way through service packs of WindowsNT-TBD. Maybe a microphile can explain how this is cheaper than running a UNIX system? If I was the Navy I would mandate that only half of the vessels be equipped with Windows and the other half be equipped with Linux and a set of tow-lines on their sterns.

Cheers,

Norm
