Eric, Re: "I sure wish you'd tell Seagate the 18GB 10K rpm scsi drive I want isn't worth
more than a couple hundred bucks. Also, let Exabyte know my 8mm just crocked
and I'd like a new mammoth drive for a few hundred as well. I'd like the NEC 19"
LCD for a couple hundred and GB of ram for $200, or a RW DVD RAM, etc.,etc."

Sounds something like the new workstation SGI's pushing for CAD, etc. design. Pentium II or Xeon based, it looks like the neatest WS to come out in a while. Guy I work with demoed one. Costs $4K, but about half of that is for the 21" flatpanel display. Note no more MIPS processors for SGI, all Intel now.

Guy in the group demoed one, wants to get some in next year's budget. Costs $4K, but about half of that is for the 21" flatpanel display. Note no more MIPS processors for SGI, all Intel now.
