victor,

Right you are, the GTC had been forgotten. I have learned to check open orders regularly. As you say, in retrospect, it may not have been a bad move... I had placed orders at 41 and 45, on a wildly hopeful swing scenario <g>

Anyway, the 43 buy is forcing me to decide wether I want to be a day-trader and/or long term investor. My mind says long term, (and here I agree with INTC) but my itchy trigger fingers say daytrade. I have the advantage of being able to trade in a totally tax free environment, so frequent trading does not cost me from a tax perspective. Of course, day trading can cost me substantially from a loss perspective...

Your post makes a lot of sense to me. My response to your initial queries was based on the hypothetical situation where I was completly "in cash". Unfortunately I cannot take my advice and buy core long termers like CSCO, LU and INTC as I am fully now invested, (no margin).

Todays action will hopefully give me a good indicator as to which way the short term market is going. I might take the opportunity to take some profit and then redeploy the cash along the lines in my response to your queries.

H
