Thanks for the technical info. I do trade equity index futures and especially the Dow/S&P spread (3 to 1). I think the key to this spread is the high tech component of the SPX. The NDX is the indicator I'd like to utilize for deciding which way to lay in the SPX/Dow spread. So, the question is more than academic. If the NDX makes its moves predictably, the directional spreads can be lucrative.

I will set up the charting system I use to follow the NDX as you have suggested. Thanks.
