I am out in the middle of nowhere in the Pacific and I am lucky to connect at 26.4 (not even 28.8).....As long as I don't open too many time and sales or mm level 2 screens I am fine......works like a champ. js

Don't forget about bonding two modems. I have read where Dial Up Networking 1.3 or greater will support two modems at one time. In effect, you could double your bandwidth with two modems. I am going to look into this. You will have to check and see if your ISP supports bonding and if you need two accounts to make it work. You will need two phone lines.
