...was recommended by Computel to search another broker: Searching for Excellence? A recent mail from CompuTail: "Mr. Trautmann, Your unidentified Dell options are the 10 Jan. 120 year 2000 calls. We have both gone around on this issue several times. Allow me to outline it again. 1. Our old system was replaced because of the problems, in part, that you have experienced thus far. (1) 2. The new system prohibits you from doing certain buy orders due to parameters established by the compliance officer of this firm in all of his legal wisdom. (2) You are the only foreign customer that we have who also trades beyond these parameters with LEAPS. (1) We do have foreign customers who do not hesitate to call us over the phone with these exceptional issues. (3) 3. Since the old system reports account information to you that is not very accurate, reports LEAP symbols inaccurately, and the new system has certain parameters that you will not call us by telephone to avoid, then we have a problem. (4) 4. We are not in the position to make the types of fixes that you require as we are not a self-clearing firm. We rely specifically upon third party systems that we have no power to change. This is our environment. Perhaps the climate in our environment is not enough to your liking? (5) I will continue to do my best to help you. If you cannot tolerate some of the inefficiencies of our system and truly cannot make the telephone calls that would help me help you, then perhaps you may consider finding a new broker. (6) Thank you, Curt Smeller" Just a few comments: (1) f.e. missing or wrong symbols, wrong balances, wrong commissions (2) Current limits: max. 50 contracts, maximum $20.000 principal. (3) Higher commissions. No accessibility during rush-hours. International phone-fees. Language-problems cause misunderstandings. BTW: Computel made announcements of multilingual service (!!!) (4) Correct is, that CompuTel has problems - but I'm the bad guy? (5) I paid for that climate a few thousends of commissions last year. (6) In other words: If I want to trade through the internet and want to get errfree executions, I'm a bad customer. Resume: CompuTel is a synomym for quality, customer-satisfaction, reliability, correctness: short, one of the leading internet-brokerages - at least, if you don't claim errors, give your orders by phone, don't order symbols that are unknown to CompuTel, and don't order too many contracts or too big positions. Comments?
