zoya: Well, without getting to much into manipulation theories...on occasion price moves can be used to attract volume by the public. If the price is moved up "big boys" can supply demand for shares by selling accumulated shares into the rise (distribution) and or short selling.

Declines can be used to cover short position and accumulate shares.

Watching price and volume action over the years has convinced me this occurs. Hope that helps, because I will not get into a debate over my view....<g>
