<<I believe today's drop may be related to shareholder's jumping ship before the earnings report on Thursday.>>

Possible, but the following article over on TSC (subscriber only URL, unfortunately) doesn't help matters.

I love the title: "At Agribiotech, Sowing the Seeds of Misunderstanding".

There is a second reason the stock is getting slammed today: TheStreet.com has an article about ABTX today in which short sellers have claimed ABTX is under SEC investigation. The issue came up around the question and answer period of the recent Goldman Sachs conference. ABTX's lawyer gave some in the crowd the idea that ABTX was furnishing materials to the SEC and NASDAQ for an investigation being conducted into ABTX. The lawyer later claimed that he meant to say that ABTX had contacted the SEC to complain about lies being spread on the internet by shorts and that the company was supplying materials to support such a claim.
If you can believe it, ABTX's lawyers are now showcasing the same ineptitude with PR that management has become so famous for.
