The Glitch of Death. The Glitch of Death (GoD) occurs when you place an order through Datek and the order disappears into the Twilight Zone. While "new messages" shows that the order has been placed, "open orders" shows nothing. Want to cancel the order? Sorry, pal, no can do. Datek has it and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. This has happened to me several times at Datek and it is the worst. Happened this morning again. Placed an short cover order for MHMY this morning. Tried to cancel the order, but saw that it was in the grip of the GoD. Several minutes later, it filled. $@#%^!!!. Sure would be nice if Datek would fix this particular problem.

Rencently I use datek to trade about 200 times within two month. Sometime I am not happy because the server is busy, but after I read those complain in E-trade board I think I am lucky not using that E-trade. Just looking those poor guys using E-Trade trading JBOH,PTVL etc., I feel I am so lucky, no problem at all when I trade these jump up and down stocks using Datek and I make a good profit on those trading. Datek is much better than E-trade, E-trade want to buy Datek? I think if E-trade could not improve their service soon, Datek could buy out E-trade someday. Some information about possible Datek IPO? If I trade over 100 times each day on Datek, Can I possible get a few shares IPO of Datek? :)
