Just because he publishes in the Chronicle does not mean he "represents people in the Bay area". Besides, he may represent the point of view of some people in the Bay area, how do you know he doesn't? Secondly, Chris has several times quoted Tip O'Neill to the effect that you treat political opponents with some degree of respect. So he didn't go after Reed and Quayle--- does that mean that he can't belong to your Democratic club anymore?
