Generally the door does not swing both ways. If a CFO of xyz company were to come on board with a CPA firm, I think it would be improper for that CPA firm to be xyz company's auditor because of the past relationship with the company.

I remember when I was hired, I had to disclose all my stock holdings. I was not allowed to own any stock in a public company audited by my firm, even though the audit was performed by the New York office and I was in Texas.

When this guy goes to CAGI, it will be very unusual for him to come back to the CPA firm.... and most certainly, if he does, then CAGI will no longer be an audit client because a partner was a past CFO.
