Arnie,

I've been a lurker here awhile and am considering taking a plunge on Nextel. I already own WorldCom and think that the combination would be pretty good for both of them. Even if no acquisition were to happen, I believe the Nextel is in a very good position in the U.S. They are the one pure wireless play with a national network.

Of course, they are a very good takeover candidate, which could mean some quick bucks, not as many now that the stock has taken a recent upswing, but I agree that the purchase price would be higher than the current stock price.

Good investing.

Tom

Arnie, how about a wienersnichel?
Just a outside shot,German Teleco teams with Microsoft to partner Nextel!??????? Why? I had pork chops last night!! all kidding aside, MSFT gets European exposure to the net,German Teleco. access to long distance (U.S.) NEXTEL gets cash and partners. I just feel WCOM is strapped, and B.Ebbers comment about the bottom line sticks in my head. In any event I'm going to sit back and enjoy this BABY!!! one other thing, till England joins fully the concept of the common market,it's a barrier to the rest of Europe, the EURO stands large. jimmyo cheers!
