Online Brokers

Nemer, I am responding to your Online Broker Information Req. as I consider myself experienced in this niche.

I've had accounts and have actively traded with the following brokers over the last 2 years...

Discover Brokerage-Decent fills, nice site, no stops on options

DLJ Direct-Excellent site, very expensive option trading, no stops on options.

Brown & Co-I wasn't there very long because after I established my account they informed me that I was given bad info about stops on options, they do not allow them.

Dreyfus-The best so far IMHO although they do not permit Index Option Stops and stops on Equity Options must be called in. Fills are good and they are rarely down. This is a no frills broker and their site is pretty dull but then again i don't need sizzle I want steak.

Sovereign(MDB.com)- I currently have 5 accounts open here and althogh they permit most of the "stop" flexibility that I like, they don't permit NAZ stops. Account info is NOT updated in realtime and they have a few back office accounting problems but I like the people and I plan to stick it out as the paperwork to move all of my accounts is a pain in the a**.

A.B.Watley-Great Daytrading firm and software, option trading is expensive but fills are lightning and the software is awesome. Back office accounting leaves a lot to be desired as of 6 months ago when I was there.

I would recco Dreyfus unless you really need option stop capability.
Good luck and if you need more info please PM me.

Nemer- I hope you are having good time with your brokers, I see you have lot of them. My father told me once select the best stallion suiting your course.I hope you find the best horse for this roughened and uneven market course, my selection criterion is to select a broker who may stand up on days like 8th Oct 98 and 28th Oct 97. Do check out with your broker what his niche like my broker has this great strength to reach the market pits in worst of times a get a fill where others would still be looking for quotes.. it is closeness to the pits that matters the most if one is an index trader..reversals are important and exploiting reversals is an art I try to learn every day, like yesterday at 1236 when SOX was only up 6 and broke that 392 we went long and took out protective leg out, had it not been for my broker I would not be able to exploit that move.. Love- It is kind of horses for courses find the best horse where ever it is irrespective of location the course you tread on is tough and distance does not matter.. it is dead..Love and sory for interjecting ..
