Anyone see LT today......and we should get the same tomorrow..... Dell speaks at conf. tomorrow.....thur, fri and tues ...run up before earnings...on 16th after close...... No numbers here....just a higher DELL thats all for now........ 888

Comparison with business potential last year: We are in a better position this year because of - Growth in hi margin server sales - Growth in foreign sales See the latest 10Q (Dec... go to www.sec.gov and search for Dell). Phenomenal numbers in those categories. We are in breakout mode in those categories. Remember, it was not so long ago that www.dell.com became the direct sales channel that it is. 95 or 96 the site came up. I was just reading about it in a book (entitled customers.com) last night. daily web sales last year was at 6mm per day. now we are comfortable with saying it is 10mm a day. but MD says at times that it is 12mm. Want to bet that on certain days it pushes 15+mm? What do you think that number will be at the end of the year? The Internet is the fasted adopted medium in history. Go to morgan stanley's web site (www.ms.com) and pull down a mary meeker authored survey of the Internet. It has a chart comparing how quickly TV, radio, and other media ramped to 50mm users. The web did that in something like 2 years. And it is still going up AT THE SAME RATE. I'm a grad student (I sound like a Dell commercial). More than once, I have heard this conversation. "My computer crashed. Damn." Response, "It's OK, just go to to www.dell.com." Screw it. Swim downstream with the river the way its flowing and make tons of money. That is my philosophy.
