Watch CNBC and listen to the guests talk about the oil well drillers and other stocks that have been sittng on lows for several years and they predict that anytime now the stock will take off.

Cosmo you just nailed one of the main reason's I dumped my local broker and started trading online. The experts don't seem to be able to grasp the reality and explosive growth in this sector. AOL has some settling down to do before we pop back through the $177 mark but it will happen. I can see it!

Thank you.......Vendit.woof woof<g>

I agree. It's also unnerving when three or so "people" say we're due, going to get, a correction and the market reacts instantly. Is there a message or a lesson here?

i've been called by the margin man today and have to sell some my aol to cover the maintenance call... this is a new one for me.... i'm being forced to sell some of a winner... its a lot better than having to sell out of a tremendous loser like last year...its a rather disturbing thing though to change the rules in the middle of the game

Cosmo Daisey, RocketMan and Vendit,

off I go to the land
of paper
were oil wells shine
and steel mills
bring hopes of
early market climbs
off off we go I say
into the blue yonder
happy at last
that Alan G
got it done.

The brokerages are creating the sell off in many stocks. The new margin requirements and no margin on several stocks is moving money to other sectors.Their excuse is volatility but they are the root cause of what is going on now. Even investors that don't use margin are reluctant to buy a stock that others are prevented from buying on margin. The brokerages have seen money flow out of their favorite stocks in favor of the internet stocks. Watch CNBC and listen to the guests talk about the oil well drillers and other stocks that have been sittilng on lows for several years and they predict that anytime now the stock will take off. I got news for you,the new internet investor is picking her own stocks and they don't always include the dogs of yesteryear.
