To buy CMGI is to buy two things...

1) An EXCEPTIONAL stock

2) Exceptional volatility

Stay in for years and you will be well rewarded. My best advice is to relax. Try this on for size:

After market close on March 11, 1999, CMGi could report (gross) 1Q earnings of $1.68 per share! That is based upon the sale of AMZN in November '98 with proceeds of $27.2 million and 748K shares of LCOS yielding $50.6 million. At 46.2 shares outstanding = $1.68

Feel better? (calculations came from a respected RB poster)

Join the club of CMGI investors who buy the stock only to see it plunge. I bought 100 shares of CMGI a month ago for $102, saw the stock plunge to $80 and then soar back to $140. The bottom line is you must be prepared for extreme volatility with CMGI as it's not for the faint hearted. Would not be surprised by another stock split before the end of the year so hang tight!
