This guy must have been smokin crack Re PPOD RESEARCH ALERT - Piper starts Peapod Inc. <PPOD.O> CHICAGO, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Piper Jaffray said Monday it initiated coverage of Internet grocer Peapod Inc. with a strong buy rating and a near-term price target of $16 a share. "We are initiating coverage of Peapod Inc. with a strong buy rating due largely to its leading position in the consumer-direct segment of the food distribution channel," analyst George Dahlman said in a research note. "While shares of many other Internet-related companies have been appreciating significantly during the past several months, we believe Peapod shares have been trading at an unwarranted discount due largely to a lack of visibility." Dahlman estimated Peapod's fourth quarter 1998 loss at $0.34 a share, and full-year 1999 loss at $0.99 a share. He pegged the 2000 loss at $0.52 a share. The stock was up 1-25/32 at 9-9/32. 15:12 02-08-99

<PPOD> If I recall correctly, Mr. Pink and Auric have been in and out of it from the long side. Might have a little value?? I think Piper was the main underwriter or the biggest MM w/ the stock. My brain is dead right now and can't think. <SATH> 30+ free moeny on the short side. And I can't get any shares! ARGH!!!! x
