Ramsey:

This stock drives me bonkers as well. The company's back order doesn't even come close to providing viability, never mind profitability. It is as close to road kill as anything out there. What semi producer will order production equipment in this messy environment? Yet the N.Y. analysts paint in technicolor and the ninnies believe.

There is one company the market thinks is indirectly allocating dollars to equipment,....INTC, via its writing of cheques to memory producers to "do something about Rambus". I doubt that much of this money will make it to the semi equipment makers and it is not a big sum anyway. Everything I see with respect to that situation suggests that the involved memory producers are cashing the cheques and "exploring" the problem. They don't see a market for Rambus, but they sure like the colour of INTC's dough. The excuses will be legion.

If anybody out there can explain why even lambs believe this fairy tale, I'm all ears. It is ludicrous.

Best, Earlie

Ramsey, I know lots of overpriced stocks and AMAT is certainly one of them. But they will report soon and I saw an analyst of CNBS who said they were going to have blowout order #s. This I don't believe, unless their own partnership DRAM fab is gearing up. <G>
