Pat,
I think that the only date that matters is 2/17. If I buy 100 shares tomorrow for $130 each and keep them, I will have 200 for $65 after 2/17.

BTW, Motley Fool had a good set of articles about splits and how they work.

For most investors, the record date for stock split means nothing if your stock is registered as "street name". But if you have stock certificate on the record date, the transfer agent will send additional stock certificate to you.
