Spots,

I think the PC BIOS and HD Support is showing its age. ( so many hacks so many years, how long has this been going on now??? too long )

I feel for you. problems are everywhere. This is one of the reasons I still beleive building your own is not the way for most people. running NT is still like being a step child. tech support people would much rather talk 95, most tech supp folks cringe when you mention it as you must know by now :)

I luckily had NT loaded on my latest rig in less than 4 hours after post. About 2 days to get all the HW and system level software working. Only thing that still doesn't work is my SB Live (wave only) and CD booting. I never play games or midis so its sits broken. (One of these days I'll find time). Not likely soon with the new opened photo lab in my dining room though.

Another note: Printing this giants pics takes plenty of CPU power. Task Manager CPU monitors reads like a super fast heart EKG the whole time its running. At least the monitor updates status so you can tell its not hung becuse it noticeablies slows down the CPU. This thing even has 32M of ram standard.

Sean

definately check out the die-sub system though
