Do you call @home for service or the cable company? Which company? What have they done to try to resolve the issue? Please give us details. Understanding how bad the invevitable problems are and how they deal with them is very important to the investment.
Take my suggestion about a different ethernet card seriously. I dont know why it worked, but I remember clearly someone saying it did.

Quiet, sorry to hear about your bad service. Who are you calling when you are put on hold for that long? Who is your cable operator? Where are you located? How long have you had this service? Has it always been slow or has it become slow recently?

Needless to say, we are pretty concerned that ATHM customers get great service and are very interested when they don't. Thanks for keeping us up to date with what's happening in the real world.
