Daniel:
I've found a beauty. I've got an exam tomorrow morning, but will PM the pick immediately following. If you like it, share it with your friends. If not, . . .

Hello all. My pick is High Speed Net Solutions, OTC BB: HSNS

Daniel, I mentioned this one to you a week or so ago. Held up today at 2 3/4 after a plummet from 6's. I'm still in. If it keeps holding above 3, I'll add. Here are my reasons:

The product. HSNS owns 12% (18% in a few months if they are successful) of a company called Summus (www.summus.com). Summus is the brainchild of a swedish scientist who discovered/invented and has been studying 'wavelets' for years. Long story short (read PR's for details, also look up wavelets in a search engine) Summus' technology allows ordinary telephone lines to transmit data three times faster than normal. The interesting point is that users will need do nothing to their existing computer, modem, telephone lines. ISP's will be able to employ Summus' wavelet technology. If your ISP has it, you're 56k modem functions at approximately 168k.

Summus also claims to have (because of their wavelet technology) a video streaming product better than Real Networks. A product which actually sends video over existing telephone lines at 30fps (frames per second). This means motion pictures on the computer. If this works this is the beginning of new everything. (I work in film/video/digital video so this is the part that makes me crazy about this stock).

High Speed Net Solutions is, as far as I can tell, the salesperson/marketer for Summus. They had recently announced a reverse stock split, but called it off in the last few days, choosing instead to cancel 30% of the outstanding shares. From 17 million to 10+ million. Check 2/8 PR.

Yes this company sounds sketchy. Their web page (www.hsns.com) is weak. Summus' page is better, but still dull. HSNS was previously another company by the name of ZZNet. I do not know much about them. All I know is that canceling 30% of the float sounds like a move by a company who thinks they are going to move. Summus' technology sounds incredible. If it works, it will revoloutionize the internet. Downloadable movies and Widerbandwidth for all! PAYV and BDE might actually make money! DRIV will sell more software. Who knows what else.

Somebody please burst my bubble

Daniel, last week you said you were looking at ISAC. It looks like a buy at these levels. Do you like it? Great thread!

Well, that didn't last long.

Why don't all of you "Grown-ups" go somewhere else to argue!

Let's keep this thread free of the personal assaults!

Keep it on Short Term Picks From the 'Whiz' Kid.

Is that too much to ask?

For Crying out loud!
