It looks like USAI (a $5.5 Billion dollar company with $2.5 billion in sales), and also the majority holder of Ticketmaster will be handing over control of this stuff to Lycos (a $5.5 billion dollar company). Lycos has to buy up the 8.5% of Ticketmaster that USAI doesn't own. USAI then gets 65% of Lycos. Sounds like two multi-billion dollar internet companies pooling their interests in e-commerce. USAI gets the controlling interest.
As SATH don't have any Internet business to pool with anybody and has only has no internet business, $120 million in sales (about 7% of USAIs), it really puts things in perspective.
The two things I see:
1) SATH is way overvalued
2) LYCOS believes it is overvalued. Not good for YHOO and the other internuts in the long run.
Bear in mind the news release is confusing, and I can't be bothered crunching numbers. I guess I have to see how much USAI's assets that they are giving to Lycos are worth.
