blankmind Re: Message 147 -- I have seen plenty of information that would tend to support both facts.

Regarding the programmer, what I have been able to glean is that until a few months ago, Activeworlds.com had two programmers. Roland Vilett, a full-time programmer (still with the company), and Ron Britvich, who was employed as a contract programmer.

Ron Britvich, who apparently was one of the founders of Circle of Fire, Inc., the company that became Activeworlds.com with the recent IPO, along with another company founder whose name I haven't seen, was ousted in a power play by the two remaining executives J.P. McCormick, and Rick Noll. Britvich stayed on in the role of contract programmer until a few months ago when he apparently was sued by or sued Circle of Fire. Not sure what the lawsuit was about, but may deal with rights to the software. I have not been able to determine whether the lawsuit has been resolved and may be ongoing.

So, getting back to programmers, it appears that there is indeed only Roland Vilett. Although I have read that there may be another part-time programmer who has helped develop the technology for bots (automated Avatars). If someone more knowledgeable has additional information, please post it.
