Brady, we agree on that one! I tried twice yest. to get out of a falling stock . both times it actually went above my limit order for a substantial period, but no fill ... I am still trying to get out this a.m., but my pocket a few hundred lighter ... I know that these services aren't daytrading tools, but this is ridic.!

OFF TOPIC "A SALUTE TO A GREAT MAN AND FRIEND WHO PASSED THIS WEEK"

King Hussein ruled Jordan and influenced the Middle East,in many many
positive ways, he ruled without oil riches, strategic positioning,or
with a gun to the head. His power was his ability to use his guile,
tact, ingenuity and charm for honorable purposes.
BIS MULLA ALLAH AKBAR!

He will be missed..

Give your head a shake BB, the very essence of the NASDAQ market
makers business is governed by the very trade that is being DRAMATICALLY eroded by day traders using e-trade or web systems for fractions of what these fat cats make in what is so innocently called "THE SPREAD". It is therefor reasonable to assume that everytime a MM or wirehouse can screw up the on-line traders, they will do it!!

The Bear Stearns and Merrill's back room boys, have not yet figured out how to control this lucrative market...

The obvious answer is buy 'em out and shut 'em down, and then figure it out.IMO you will see E-Trade and some of the "new kids on the block" bought out and closed down,, just an observation IMO

Had the same experience and except that I also needed to be transferred to another extension once I finally did reach someone. So what does that person do put be right back into the incoming calls. It was over 2 hours before I finally did reached the person I wanted to talk with. I was setting up a Roth IRA and they had to screw it up. It took them over 6 weeks to get it right. I made at least a dozen calls. What a joke. I too have lost money because of their ability to screw it up. I can't believe that they have the money to buy SuperBowl Advertisements, or should I say the balls. How dare them to go after new customers with they don't have the capacity to handle the ones that they currently have. Checkout the "etrade sucks" thread. Was contacted by a reporter for the WSJ Interactive edition for a few posts that I made there. Boy, the article she wrote almost sounded like an endorsement of etrade. Sorta like when AOL was having so many troubles with customer complaints and their stock went up.
Someday we will all trade this way.....

Is there anyone out there that is happy with their online brokerage. The only one that I have heard that seems to be doing OK is Waterhouse. I have thought about using Datek because they have plenty of capacity but they do not do pennies or at least not the last time I checked.
