Lucent Technologies Joins CSC's Pennant Alliance Team to Pursue San
Diego County Outsourcing Contract

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today
announced that Lucent Technologies will join CSC's "Pennant Alliance" team that is pursuing the
county of San Diego's proposed information technology (I/T) outsourcing contract.

The Pennant Alliance, which also includes San Diego-based Science Applications International
Corporation (SAIC) and Pacific Bell, encompasses more than 200,000 I/T and telecommunications
employees among the four companies. More than 12,000 of these professionals currently work in
San Diego County.

Lucent Technologies enhances the alliance with its global leadership position in call center solutions
and unified messaging. The company is also the leader in the PBX, wireless business systems and
voice services support areas in the United States.
