It is interesting when a industry arguably as a whole begins shifting to a new paradigm (FC/SAN) and the big bully/gorilla does not like the new paradigm, creates a new one to its liking! Check out the SNIA website and look to see who is the chairperson for standards and architectures! It should not be to much of a surprise that only EMC partners are in this new "alliance" and any/all compeitors are not. Watch to see if they (EMC) can also steer SNIA to their liking and the disadvantage of others.
