Bill, The buy and hold approach is the only method of achieving long term wealth. Short term market timing can be profitable or hazardous to your weath building. The hardest strategy to do is to be a long term buyer and holder of stocks. I have played recently on margin, and decided that it is not good for everyone including me. All the stocks which I have in my portfolio as of this minute are all mine and I owe nothing in the way of margin so I can ride out the crap and bumps and just complain along the way. In the end I think all who follow my simple method will be among the top winners Best Regards Frank
