Phon-Net and Adatom Announce 50 Million-Dollar
Contract

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Phon-Net Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: PNET - news)
announces a national distribution agreement with Adatom, Inc. for Phon-Net Direct Connect Software in the U.S.A. The
deal is worth $50,000,000 in 1999. Adatom is a leading e-commerce corporation with links to hundreds of manufacturers
and distributors in the U.S.A.

One of the main objections by consumers about e-commerce is the lack of interaction on the Internet. Phon-Net Direct
Connect software takes a major step in satisfying this important customer need. Direct Connect allows businesses and
consumers to interact at the Internet site, similar to the experience found in a physical store. This software, downloaded
from the Internet, gives the consumer the ability to ''freeze'' the business' website image on the computer screen. The
consumer is then directly connected to the business using the same phone line as his/her Internet connection.

For businesses, Direct Connect becomes a logical solution for problems encountered in attempting to better serve the
customer. Some advantages of Direct Connect include:

-- Increased Security: Customers who are not comfortable with sending
personal and payment information over the Internet can call the
business directly without having to log off.

-- Instant Access to Customer Service: Customers can ask questions about
certain products while the images are retained on their computer
screens. Since both the customers and the Personal Shoppers can view
the exact product simultaneously, the Personal Shoppers can now give
more detailed answers and information without compromising the
customer's shopping experience.

Businesses can purchase the Direct Connect software exclusively from Adatom in order to enjoy these benefits. However,
this investment should be well worth the increased website traffic and customer transactions the businesses will inevitably
experience by using Direct Connect.

For consumers, Direct Connect allows for the integration of the Internet and human interactive shopping. Direct Connect
is a tremendous shopping aid. It allows increased productivity, since customers can get assistance instantaneously without
having to go through the extra task of ''printing'' the page, logging off the Internet, then picking up the phone to call the
company's customer service line. Consumers can get quick answers to their questions without all the hassle! In addition,
Direct Connect gives consumers a choice between the transactional website or phone to place their orders. And best of
all, Direct Connect is free to all consumers!

Adatom was naturally the first choice to distribute such an innovative product, according to Brian Collins, President of
Phon-Net. ''Adatom is at the forefront of e-commerce and customer service on the Internet. They have effectively
demonstrated that Phon-Net's technology can be integrated effectively with their unique customer service applications to
offer the ultimate Internet shopping experience.''

Adatom's exceptional customer service and its utilization of live chat sessions, special order, and personal shopper
services were some of the major reasons for Phon-Net's selection of Adatom as their distribution partner for the U.S.A.
As well, Adatom's value statement to consumers consists of:

-- Low factory-direct prices

-- More selection of fine brand named products

-- Greater personal service and support than you have ever experienced

before

-- Convenience that matches your busy lifestyle

-- Superior quality and overall value

''Phon-Net Direct Connect software is the beginning of a series of offerings that Adatom plans to bring to the market to
continuously improve the consumer's e-commerce experience,'' says Richard Barton, President and CEO of Adatom.

Phon-Net utilises it's own proprietary software and interface in conjunction with Core Patented Technology. One stop
information and express connection is at the heart of Phon-Net.

Phon-Net is a successful Internet Technology company and is presently negotiating worldwide expansion plans which will
make Phon-Net a household name.

Phon-Net is a publicly trading company under trading symbol ''PNET'' on Nasdaq OTC Bulletin Board.

You can view and purchase the Phon-Net Direct Connect software directly through Adatom's website at
adatom.com. Investor Relations 1-800-441-6584.
