Sound Source Interactive and TDK Recording Media Europe S.A. Announce Publishing and International Distribution Agreement
CALABASAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 1999--Sound Source Interactive Inc. (Nasdaq:SSII - news), the seventh largest U.S. publisher of educational software (PC DATA - unit sales for 12/98), Tuesday announced that it has signed a three-year, renewable publishing and international distribution agreement with TDK Recording Media Europe S.A., the European subsidiary of the Y697-billion TDK Corp. (NYSE:TDK - news).

Under the terms of the agreement, TDK will publish a full range of Sound Source Interactive CD-ROM software and distribute it throughout Europe. The agreement also gives TDK the option to publish and distribute Sound Source titles in the DVD-ROM and Sony PlayStation formats.

The agreement calls for Sound Source to receive a guarantee reflecting its market potential with TDK distribution. This agreement replaces the expired republishing and international distribution agreement with IONA Ltd.

TDK worldwide generated fiscal 1998 revenues of Y697 billion with a workforce in excess of 29,000 employees. As a major multinational manufacturer of electronic components and recording media, TDK commands approximately 20 percent of the European CD-ROM market, 40 percent of the audio cassette market, 20 percent of the VHS cassette market, 38 percent of the VHS-C market and 21 percent of the 8mm market.

Its European distribution covers the channels including Hyper markets, supermarkets, record/video stores, electronics stores, department stores, duty-free stores, kiosks, bookstores and others throughout Europe.

''TDK will be adapting our award-winning titles into new language versions and will be distributing them into the new, growing markets in Western Europe.
