Bell and DTM Sign an Agreement for new Internetworking and Electronic Commerce Solutions for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--Bell Canada and DTM Information Technoloy Group Inc., one of the main computer system integrators in Quebec, today announced the signing of an agreement. Under this agreement, Bell makes DTM one of its main partners in providing computer products and services for the new integrated internetworking and electronic commerce solutions that it will offer to the small and medium-sized businesses market in Quebec.

These Bell solutions, which combine local and wide area network (LAN/WAN) services, electronic commerce applications and the necessary systems infrastructure, will allow Quebec businesses to obtain all the products and services they need to take full advantage of new technologies, directly from Bell.

The entire systems portion of the new solutions (sales and service) will be handled by DTM, which will act as an integrator; however, Bell will remain the sole point of contact for customers. The computer products supplied by DTM will be from reputable manufacturers, such as Hewlett-Packard.

''We were looking for a partner that shared our customer-service vision,'' said Normand Lord, General Manager, Sales and Authorized Agents at Bell. ''With DTM for a partner we know that our customers will continue to enjoy the peace of mind they have come to expect from us. Our partnership with DTM will enable Quebec small and medium-sized businesses to grow through the use of new technologies, by reducing their operating costs, speeding up their exchanges with customers and
suppliers and facilitating their access to international markets,'' stated Mr. Lord.

The President of DTM, Mr. Karol Brassard, had this to say about the new agreement: ''We are extremely proud to be associated with Bell, a company whose renown and expertise are widely recognized in the industry. This strategic agreement confirms the complementary nature of the solutions offered by our two companies in the area of internetworking and electronic commerce.''

''The highly competitive prices and extensive experience of Bell and of DTM in network infrastructures will give a decided advantage to Quebec businesses that opt for these new solutions,'' commented Rene Auger, Vice-President, Sales at DTM.

Active in the computer industry since 1977, DTM is the largest specialized integrator in e-business in Quebec. DTM provides a full range of specialized services, namely planning, designing, acquiring and integrating systems infrastructures, as well as developing Groupware solutions for predominately medium and large companies. DTM Information Technoloy Group Inc. (1) is listed on the Montreal Stock Exchange under the symbol DTM.

Bell Canada, whose Head Office is located in Montreal, is the largest telecommunications company in Canada. Bell is a major contributor to Quebec's economy and is committed to the communities located in every region it serves. Bell helps position Quebec as a leader in new technologies by providing customers with an increasingly broad range of advanced voice, data and image communications services. Bell Canada is a member of the BCE group of companies that provide state-of-the-art telecommunications services focused on wired and wireless technology, the Internet and satellite transmission.
