Paul,
I dont want to put words in anyones mouth, but I think what he meant is he cared more about gaining real long term progress than short term price points.
I think everyone felt that progress was being made, until the LeDoux bombshell. Now progress means just having a track or course of events that MIGHT have a little light at the end of the tunnel. IN some respects, caring more about real progress in the long term is the best way to proceed. the problem arises because whe are so shell shocked that we measure that long term progress by the day to day share price fluctuations. Obvioulsy the two are not always correlated, but who can blame any of us, after all that we have been through?
Unfortunately, this has beeen an Oddyssey in every sense of the word.
therefore we are all subject to rash and severe generalizations with little but our emotional flavor du jour to back it up. A sure recipe for heated arguments and poor logic.
