Slider, I'm not even sure where to start to respond, and I won't try to respond to all of your points (dinner is cooling). But first, I have never had any "aliases" at SI, and I don't know who Dr. Yo is. Like I said I'm an intermittent but long-time lurker, and I used to post here once in awhile. I remember when Big Dog made a Big Bet with FGII call options. I watched as he gradually (didn't take long really) observed the blunt truths of the driller/OS sector: it was going to get ugly-worse than expected. He shared bravely shared his views here, and they were much appreciated (and doggone accurate). I remember when someone came onto this thread in Feb of 1998 and stated that most of these stocks would eventually have PEs of 6 or 7, or possibly lower. He posted astonishingly low prices that these stocks might hit---and nearly everyone on this board vehemently shouted him down-told him he was nuts. You weren't the first bull on this thread, Slider-you were simply a later one, who came along after most bulls had already bled to death or wised up before they lost absolutely everything. I guess my main point was, don't ever be too proud to admit that perhaps the drilling/OS sector, while once pretty hot, may be stone-cold for longer than anyone cares to admit. That was my only point. If you want to hang around and trade it, there's nothing wrong with that. All I know is that as long as I'm filling my tank for 93¢ a gallon for 87 octane unleaded, I'm staying out of the patch. That's my fundamental research, and not only does it *not* involve "100s of hours", but it appears to be a pretty good indicator thus far. Each to his own.
