Millionaire.com And TCTV's 5th Avenue Channel Announce Joint Marketing Initiative PR Newswire - February 09, 1999 11:05
HILTON HEAD, S.C., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Millionaire.com (OTC Bulletin Board: MLRE), an upscale global auction company, magazine publisher and e-commerce site, today announced a joint marketing initiative with 5th Avenue Channel, a Tel-Com Wireless Cable TV (Nasdaq: TCTV) subsidiary. The agreement provides opportunities for both companies to cross market and expand the reach of their products and services.
Tel-Com Wireless Cable TV Corp. owns 5th Avenue Channel, Inc., which operates 5thAvenueChannel.com, an online shopping site for high-end merchandise, and the 5th Avenue television channel, a new 24-hour luxury lifestyles television channel hosted by Ivana Trump, who serves as chair of the board of 5th Avenue Channel.
Millionaire.com and 5th Avenue Channel both offer exclusive high-end merchandise and a wide variety of branded consumer products at attractive prices. The two companies will jointly develop and market advertising packages to enable advertisers to showcase their products on both company websites, in publications and television programs and networks by making just a single buy.
"We are thrilled about this new e-commerce marketing effort," said Robert L. White, president of Millionaire.com. "Between the two of us, more that 3 million consumer product SKU's will soon be delivered, of which 120,000 are illustrated, described and priced for consumers. We believe that both companies have much to offer, and this agreement allows both parties to use their strengths to cross market our various products."
In addition to the joint advertising sales, 5th Avenue Channel will air a Millionaire.com television show to be produced later this year. The program will feature a fantasy shopping trip in which a commentator will travel to exclusive locales and offer viewers the chance to purchase upscale items that are found in the shops and boutiques, in a home shopping network style.
Under the provisions of the agreement, 5th Avenue Channel also will provide products for Millionaire.com to sell on its website, through its magazines and on television. Millionaire.com branded products will be developed for Millionaire by 5th Avenue Channel.
"We look forward to working with 5th Avenue Channel to provide the most luxurious products to the high-end consumer via electronic commerce, television and magazine marketing efforts." White said.
White, founder of the Robb Report, created Millionaire.com in 1998 because of his love for buying and selling rare treasures. "We hope this company becomes the leading source of the very best the world has to offer in objects of beauty, luxury and elegance," White said.
