This is what Michael Dell said at the conference. ========================= By CBS MarketWatch Last Update: 8:30 AM ET Feb 9, 1999 Earnings headlines Silicon Stocks At the 13th annual Goldman Sachs Technology Investment Symposium, Michael Dell said Tuesday sees high-speed broadband technology as the single biggest stimulus for the sales growth of the direct vendor of personal computers, and for the computer industry in general, for that matter. The founder Dell Computer Corp. (DELL) said the technology that delivers data-rich content like sound and video over the Internet will spawn more computer sales because more people lured to speed-dependent Net pursuits like shopping and entertainment will want to to take advantage. Dell also said 50 percent of the company's sales will be done over the Internet within two years. Shares fell 3 5/16 to 100 3/4.
