Energy Research sets date for spin-off DANBURY, Conn., Feb 9 (Reuters) - Energy Research Corp. (AMEX:ERC - news) said on Tuesday it has set Feb. 19 as the record date for its spin-off of its battery unit, Evercel, Inc. Energy Research, which develops direct fuel cells through funding from the government, approved the spin-off of its battery unit in October. The company said it intends to transfer to Evercel the principal assets and liabilities related to its battery business group prior to the record date.
