dd: you have to decide whether you're a short-term trader or long-term investor in SGI. If you're short-term trader then you can take profits when it runs up a 50% or whatever in a short time. If you're long-term (> 1 year) then you don't care about profit taking or even buy more on dips. That being said, nothing in this life is certain; the turnaround of SGI is by no means assured, that's the risk you take.

Anybody interesting in supercomputing needs to get hold of a copy of Forbes ASAP, "Big Iron", Feb 22 issue. It is loaded with SGI stuff, including pictures of Origin 2000's cranking away at Los Alamos...

I'm disappointed that SGI didn't place an ad in this special issue, it would have been a perfect chance for them to brag a little.
