Lycos CEO Davis says deal should be valued on revenue

BOSTON, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Lycos Inc. (Nasdaq:LCOS - news) Chief Executive Robert Davis said the company's proposed sale to USA Networks Inc., which was roundly booed by Wall Street on Tuesday morning, should be valued using an Internet industry revenue multiple.

By that measure, the combined entities that will form the new USA/Lycos Interactive Networks Inc., would have a market value of $45 billion, on sales of $1.5 billion, Davis said in an interview with Reuters.
