Ambient Completes Buy Out Of Cirrus Logic's Modem Business New Company Will Focus On Supplying Communications Products for Internet Connectivity and Home Networking Markets FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 19, 1999--Recently formed Ambient Technologies, Inc. announced today that it has completed the purchase of the modem IC business unit from Cirrus Logic (Nasdaq:CRUS - news) in a transaction involving cash and stock. Ambient was formed by the employees of the Cirrus Logic Modem Business Unit and intends to continue marketing the former Cirrus Logic V.90 modem product line, as well as expanding into the emerging xDSL/G.Lite and home networking markets. ''We are very pleased to conclude the buyout of this strong business, which currently is generating $1 million per employee in revenue for Ambient,'' said Fred Schuckert, Ambient's President and CEO.
