New 3Dfx Patent - 1:50pm MST - Billy "Wicked" Wilson
According to my man Dan Glover (he ruled in Lethal Weapon 4) 3Dfx was just issued a new patent this week....more single-pass multi-texture stuff. Check a small snippet:

" The texture color/alpha input signal (C.sub.in, A.sub.in), the texture color/alpha output signal (C.sub.out, A.sub.out), and the local texture color/alpha signal (C.sub.local, A.sub.local) are all in the 32 bit RGBA format"

patent # 5870102

looks like it describes the internal 32-bit rendering system of the V3. From a cursory glance, it seems that the patent pretty much covers the single pass multitexturing process. More lawsuits anyone?
